Obama is biting too many of the hands that fed him. Progressive/liberal organizations like Moveon.org are furious that Obama didn't pull our troops out of Iraq and Afghanistan. And there are no words to describe their displeasure with Obama's decision to send an additional 30,000 troops into battle. Don't even get me started on health care! For most of Obama's supporters, the Public Option health plan was not an option; it's the reason they got behind him in the first place. Now that it looks like the Public Option has been replaced with a "trigger"... a lot of hardcore democrats are ready to send Obama's ass packing!
Yesterday, I posted a piece on what Limbaugh had to say about the economy and the "black" state of mind. One of my readers challenged my perspective on Limbaugh's monologue; so, I decided to man-up and dig a little deeper.
The truth is, some of what Limbaugh said, was dead on! Some African Americans are "too through" with the President's perceived lack of interest in the state of the "black" economy. The Congressional Black Caucus made their grievances clear when they refused to vote on a financial reform bill, until the President adequately addressed their concerns. The CBC says the Obama Administration is snubbing them, while bending over backwards for conservative Blue Dog Democrats. The Black Caucus is threatening to join forces with Republicans, if the President doesn't get his act together.
Let me clarify something, some of us voted for Obama not because we thought he would cater to African Americans, but because we thought he would include us. Believe it or not, most black folks want to work. We want the same things that everyone else wants: jobs, homes, education, a safe place to live, retirement plans, a better life for our children, etc. But we also realize that there are some economic pitfalls that are specific to the African American community, that are seldom addressed on a national level. Some of us thought Obama would change that. Well, according to the man, himself... you can forget about, baby! As far as Obama is concerned, we are all in this shit "together".
Here is what Obama told USA Today - Read the entire interview (by clicking here):
Q: Yesterday the Congressional Black Caucus held a protest in the House committee for what they said was an avoidance of the problems of black Americans who are facing the brunt of the recession, while policy has been, in their words, "defined by the worldview of Wall Street." What's your response to that criticism?
OBAMA: Well, look, I understand people's frustrations. As I said, Michelle and I have family members who are unemployed, and the African-American unemployment rate is even worse than for the general population.
We worked with the Congressional Black Caucus very specifically on each of the items that they have been interested in. Some of them, I think, are entirely legitimate concerns about, you know, are black businesses, in particular, getting credit; are we making sure any programs that are run by the federal government, that they are accessible to all people and not just some people.
But I will tell you that I think the most important thing I can do for the African-American community is the same thing I can do for the American community, period, and that is get the economy going again and get people hiring again. And I think it's a mistake to start thinking in terms of particular ethnic segments of the United States rather than to think that we are all in this together and we're all going to get out of it together.

When it's dog eat dog, you are what you eat.
According to this guys campaign promises he is biting the hands that feed of many in the country. What I am afraid of is that rather then making progress that he led us to beleive, he is going to set this country back many decades.
It's going to take years of legislation to repeal what this guy puts into place by the time those who have now woken up, start taking action to stop.
You can count me as being one of that growing number of voters who is totally fed up with all of the bullshit being served up by the Democrats who are currently controlling Congress and the White House.
I was driving home from work not long ago when I heard a sound bite of Vice President Joe Biden saying the following:
"The stimulus package is working better and faster than I ever expected."
As I listened to our Veep say this, I drove past over a dozen empty store fronts and two car dealerships that were closed down earlier this year. This made me realize that Joe Biden either has very low standards, or he is just very clueless, or it's a bit of both.
President Obama often says that the stimulus package has "saved" or created new jobs. Now seriously, does anybody out there know of anyone who got a job from the stimulus package? I don't, but I do know over two dozen people who have lost their jobs since Obama started his term. President Obama says the economy is getting better too, but he would not be able to prove that by me.
Is there anybody out there making more money this year than last year or the year before that one? Is there anybody out there who owns a house that is worth more now than it was worth two years ago? It's high time that we all start to face reality here. President Obama and the Democrats sure seem to talk a great game, but when it comes to action and good results, they are all sadly lacking.
President Obama and the Democrats promised us "transparency" in government. (Does anybody remember this?) We were promised that all congressional bills would be posted online for public viewing before they were signed into law by President Obama. How many bills have we seen since? Don't tell me the health care bill either, because it's still not ready to be signed, and it's a good bet anyway that none of these congressional Democrats have even read it themselves!
As a veteran of the US Air Force, I am extremely disappointed in the actions of President Obama as our commander-in-chief. We have troops over in Afghanistan that need to to be either reinforced 100% and allowed to win the war that they are fighting, or just be brought home right away. It really is as simple as that. Either be in it to win it, or get out without a doubt. While President Obama waffled on what to do for months and months on end, our brave young men and women in uniform continued to put themselves in harm's way, and some of them also paid the ultimate price for this.
After the shootings at Fort Hood, President Obama blamed the terrorist's terrorism on "stress." This army officer/terrorist was working eight hour days five days a week in Texas. If that is what President Obama calls "stress," then it's obvious that he has no clue what our combat ground troops have to endure 24/7.
The arrogance of the Obama administration is incomprehensible. While so many of us in America are now struggling just to make ends meet, President Obama has already spent more than twice what any previous president has spent in his first year in office. President Obama seems to think that there is an unlimited supply of our tax money that he can do with as he pleases. Those trillions of dollars we hear about came from people like me, not from some bake sale that President Obama had last year.
The rest of the Democrats are just as cavalier. They seem to have forgotten that as elected officials, their job is to represent the electorate and not push their own ideological and self-serving agendas. Nancy Pelosi called all the protesters at the town hall meetings last summer "thugs" and "un-American." She acts as if those same exact people did not put her and her cohorts in office, but the fact is that they did.
Let me get back to Joe Biden again. What can you say about this guy? He's the one who thinks that j-o-b-s is a three-letter-word and that FDR went on television during the stock market crash of 1929 when there really was no such thing as television yet.
(I am not finished with this rant yet. I will continue it below.)
(Continued from above)
Heaven help us if anybody should speak out on the failures of President Obama. We get immediately labeled as "unpatriotic" or even "racist" for it. This really is not about race or patriotism though - it's about leadership and making some right choices for once with this current administration. I am sure that I am like most other Americans who hope that President Obama and all the members of the US Congress, regardless of of their party affiliation, will start doing the right things to keep this country of ours strong, safe, and free. Right now, it seems that many of them are behaving more like they the stars of some movie or television show who are more concerned with their "sound bites" and "photo ops."
This is real life! The American economy is in the dumper and the unemployment rate is at the double-digit percentage mark. We are at war in places that have names that most of us cannot spell or pronounce correctly. The federal deficit is beyond our ability to repay in our own lifetimes or even the lifetimes of our own children. The Iranians and the North Koreans are working to build their own nuclear weapons, and we're liable to get a health care plan that is totally run by the government that nobody wants or can understand.
Hey President Obama!
Hey Vice President Biden!
Hey Speaker Pelosi!
Hey all the rest of you in the US Congress!
You are all charged with the welfare of American lives and lifestyles. Stop with all your rhetoric already, stop playacting, and start taking some action that will actually help the rest of us here in America.
I don't know about anyone else, but I am not interested in the President's great speeches. I am interested in action. And I am starting to see, little by little, exactly where Obama stands.
Well it just gets better every day, Check out these headlines; The House already approved a higher debt ceiling for Washington of 2 more trillion for 2010, as they have already borrowed and spent the max of 12.1 trillion. And they come right out and say they are seeking approval to borrow more now so people forget about it in 2010 during the elections. Obama says we need to borrow more to pay our bills.
I could rant for hours about the shit they are spending money on corruptly foolishly and frivolously. But again am getting fucking nauseous at the balls of these assholes. Everyone in the country is tightening there belts, some don't even have a fucking belt and Obama is spending to bribe, cajol, campaign, more useless pork funding then I have ever heard of and he needs to borrow more to pay the bills? How about firing a couple of Michelles assistants. 36 fucking assistants making 1.5 million a year. The most any first lady ever had was three, what is this hollywood?
How about shelve your crazy socialist new world order ideas that will cost more and more taxes, cap and trade, running the railroads and on and on. How about cut out the corruption and stop bribing and rewarding your friends who donated to your campaign, 5.9 million stimulus to hillarys campaign manager for stimulus, save 3 fucking JOBS in advertising!!! How about fucking forget all about health care right now, what good is health care when the dollar crashes and it is very very close, especially when the world finds out we want to borrow another 2 trillion) inflation triples as well and no one can fucking eat!!!!
Now I am seriously starting to think he needs to be impeached. We cant' wait until 2010 to make change. Didn't he just say they needed to stop spending because the whole country is telling him this!!!!!!
With Eye to 2010 Election, Dems Prepare to Raise U.S. Borrowing Limit by Nearly $2T
"Well it just gets better every day, Check out these headlines; The House already approved a higher debt ceiling for Washington of 2 more trillion for 2010"
I read that article and my jaw dropped! I just don't get it! Obama is either hellbent on destroying or misguidedly trying to save us. Either way, it hurts!
How come nobody was this vocal during the 8 years Bush was in office? Obama hasn't even been President a full year. There is no way he can even begin to make a dent in the nonsense Bush Jr. has done to this country. People are blaming him but forgetting who made the problems. No matter what Obama does he won't be able to please everyone. Americans have a very short attention span. I'm just saying, while everyone was blindly following Bush and calling anyone who dared question him "unpatriotic", THAT'S who was screwing up the country.
"How come nobody was this vocal during the 8 years Bush was in office?"
You are absolutely right. However, I was trying to call attention to Obama's attempt at being fair, by allegedly ignoring the plight of his black voters.

No you aren't right. I am no Bush fan but the man got bashed left and right and still does. There isnt a thing Obama does or a speech that Obama makes where he doesn't at some point blame the past administration or bush and that is not a leader it is a misdirector. Maybe it's a cultural thing to point fingers? Both of you either crawled out from under a rock or are purposely misrepresenting the facts due to the old blind skin color alignment.
Simple points: Bush left office under 500B deficit. 8 years, 9/11 and two wars. Unemployment under 5% Obama and the dems in power under Bush and forcing Banks to give loans to unqualified minorities: People who could not afford a house, pay back a loan but would sue for racism if they didnt get one.
Obama in office less then a year, 1.2 trillion in debt, arranged to borrow another 2 already. Spending on Bribes, and pushing the pork like never seen before. UNemployement over 10%. Banks crash due to previous democratic forcing (fannie and freddie) unqualified loans.
And then, he has not even rolled out his entitlement programs that will bring even more unemployment, taxes, higher deficit, recession and double digit inflation, this is guaranteed, the dollar is already close to being discarded as the worlds currency. Just think how valuable those government checks will be when this happens.
Those handouts you are counting on, aren't coming. One way or another this whole ball of wax is going to crash. Black Unemployment is going to get even higher next year when he rolls out cap and trade, raises taxes. Who do you think does the hiring? Obama? No. the the same people who are going to get taxed through the nose for the free programs that wont work and will be cutting back more in their businesses to stay afloat.
I meant that Ariana was right that Obama inherited a mess. Obviously, Bush was heavily criticized while he was in office, and rightfully so. Bush was a walking political circus. But I will say this, the man had balls!
